What do you like about working here? The people I’m working with. Everyone works equally and holds themselves accountable to doing a good job. Plus we have great bosses who are always willing work with me. It’s a unique kind of work environment.

Why did you want to work here? A good friend had worked here and recommended it to me. I knew the owners would be good people to work for, and I really wanted my first job to be a good experience. It has been a really good first job!

What’s your favorite part of being a barista? There are a lot of good parts! Customer interactions, lots of familiar faces, everyone is really nice and understanding. I think it’s really cool to get to be the person who gets other peoples’ days started with coffee.

What is your go-to coffee drink (at work or not)? Cortado! It’s a good balanced drink. It mellows out the espresso.

What is something you have learned from working at BonLife? I’ve learned the importance of teamwork/workflow/ everyone being on the same page. I didn’t know how big the coffee world was before I got into it. There is so much that can go into a coffee: roasting, process, fermentation. This job has opened me up to the world of coffee in general & I liked learning about that!

What’s your favorite hobby outside of work? Probably Guitar. Or reading.

What’s the best book you’ve read lately? Probably wuthering heights. My favorite book is tied between Brave New World and Crime & Punishment.

What is something you’re looking forward to? College! I’m looking forward to the general experience and the change.

What is something you hope to learn? Since I’m going off to college, it’s to connect with new people. Maybe through coffee or through a new job at college!
