Looking Back on 2023 with BonLife
We had a very exciting 2023 here at BonLife Coffee Roasters! Come take a walk down memory lane with us as we celebrate some of our favorite moments of the year— none of which could’ve happened without you all, our wonderful customers.
A very big moment for us was winning our third (and final) North American Golden Bean! This overall champion Reg Barber giant bean trophy was a very meaningful accomplishment for us. We attended the Golden Bean North America coffee roasters competition in August and won overall champion along with several medals for specific coffees. Winning a third time has been a goal of ours for quite some time, and we were so psyched to finally accomplish this goal.
And it’s not just about the medal for us: competing in these types of competitions keeps us striving to roast our coffees excellently and honor the farmers who grew the coffees well.
This year we created some tasty house-made syrups and sauces. We spent many hours researching and developing and creating and tasting and tweaking until these new flavors were just perfect… like our homemade caramel sauce pictured here. We are so proud of these creations, and sharing them with our customers this year was definitely a highlight!
Our local community voted us best Specialty Beverages Shop and best Locally Owned Business again this year. It is an honor to win this award from our community as we are so happy to be a part of it and to serve them award-winning coffee day after day.
We welcomed some new baristas to our staff this year, and our team just keeps getting better! We have the best staff, and spending time with them (both new and old) this year was our favorite.
Last but not least we tasted some incredible coffees this year! From Colombia to Costa Rica to Democratic Republic of Congo to Ethiopia to Honduras and more, we traveled the world through our beans. We tried new coffees; we re-visited old favorites; we cupped; we discussed; we made countless many pourovers; and we drank a better story.
