An Ode to the Aeropress.
Oh, how we love the AeroPress here at BonLife! It’s one of our favorite brew methods for many reasons. The AeroPress itself is super sturdy and portable- perfect for camping or travel. It makes one cup, which we find to be very convenient. And the flavor it extracts from our fresh-roasted coffee is so rich!
In fact, we love the AeroPress so much that BonLife owner, Jeremy, competed in the 2014 U.S. AeroPress Championship and won first place!
Since we love it so much, we wanted to share with you all our AeroPress recipe with pictures.
For this particular recipe you will need an AeroPress, a rinsed paper filter, a scale with timer, 17 grams of coffee, a kettle of water at 202 degrees Fahrenheit, and a mug to enjoy it in.
Step 1: Grind 17 grams of your favorite coffee to a mid-fine grind size. (Coffee should be about the consistency of table salt.) Pour into the AeroPress. Tare your scale.
Step 2: Start your timer. Pour 260 grams of water slowly over coffee in a circular motion. This should take approximately 46 seconds.
Step 3: Stir once.
Step 4: Place the plunger onto AeroPress, but don’t press yet! Let it brew for another 47 seconds.
Step 5: Time to plunge! Press slowly, taking about 48 seconds and keeping the plunger even.
Step 6: Pour into your favorite mug & enjoy!
There you have it! Our award-winning AeroPress recipe is as simple as that.
We love all of our coffees on AeroPress, from the lightest Ethiopia to the jammiest Colombia to a balanced blend.
Shop fresh coffees here, try them brewed on an AeroPress, and let us know what you think!
