A Look at a Coffee Farm Visit
Come with us— through these photos— as we go visit a coffee farm in Colombia!
As we’ve talked about a lot in the past, we care about where our coffees come from! We want to support farms who are doing good, and part of learning about our coffee farms is visiting them. You can read more about how we choose our coffee farms here.
A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of visiting this farm in Colombia.
“What happens on a farm visit?” you may be asking. That’s a great question! Every farm is different, but here are a few things that usually happen…
First off, we meet the people. We talk with the farmers, and take a tour of the farm with someone who works there! They show us the trees and the land; we look at the coffee cherries happily growing; next they show us some harvested coffee cherries in various processing states; then, we get to taste.
We taste and cup coffees because it’s one of our favorite things to do, but we also cup them to shop the available coffees. Sometimes on these visits we fall in love with a certain coffee, and we bring it back with us to roast for you!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this peek at a coffee farm visit with BonLife! Stick around: we visited two farms on this trip to Colombia, and photos from that second farm are not to be missed!
