Ethiopia - Masha Farm
There’s nothing like a high-quality natural Ethiopia! This one is delicious!
Masha Farm is owned and operated by world-renowned running champion Haile Gebrselassie. The Ethiopian government gifted him the land in recognition of his achievements, which include being a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a four-time World Champion, and holding 27 world records. Returning to his roots in farming and agriculture, Haile transformed the 1,500-hectare estate into coffee farm with 250 hectares dedicated to conservation forest land. Masha forest is recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve, and accordingly, the farm produces both Organic and Rainforest Alliance-certified coffees.
The farm is divided into 46 identifiable plots, each with specific planted varieties and processing methods, facilitating the production of traceable microlots. The estate also offers local coffee farmers in nearby Yeppo Village training in agronomic best practices and methods for increasing cup quality, while adhering to socially and environmentally friendly practices.
