Colombia - Finca Betania
Finca Betania is a high-quality farm outside the village of Palestina, Colombia. Coffee farmer, Linarco Rodriguez Ospina, and his family have been growing coffee on these steeps lopes for three generations. Finca Betania has placed in the Cup of Excellence five times in the last five years.
The location of Finca Betania, in a tiny valley between the lush mountains of Palestina, offers ideal growing conditions for high-quality coffees: ample rainfall, rich soil, and steep well-draining slopes.
This particular coffee is processed as a Washed Anaerobic— a unique processing method. The fermentation is closely monitored for temperature and pH, and when ready, the cherries are removed and pulped before being submerged in water for an additional 12 hours before being washed clean and dried on raised beds.
